RESEARCH SEAL:
INNOVATIVE THROUGH RESEARCH
MicroCombiChem GmbH was awarded the research seal "Innovative through Research" by the Stifterverband für die Deutsche Wissenschaft e.V. Germany. This seal is awarded to researching companies for the special responsibility they assume for the state and society.
Research Collaboration: Molecular Pharmacology and Toxicology of Anticancer Drugs
Since 2014, MicroCombiChem and Prof. Dr. Efferth's research group at the Institute of Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences (Johannes Gutenberg University, Mainz, Germany) are collaborating on several Anticancer drug discovery projects. The main focus are novel cytotoxic synthetic and natural compounds with improved tumor specificity and efficacy against otherwise drug-resistant tumors.

Research Collaboration: Discovery of Novel Antifungals
Since 2008, MicroCombiChem and Dr Brian Monk's research group in the Molecular Microbiology Laboratory (University of Otago, Dunedin, New Zealand) are collaborating on the discovery of novel antifungals, especially inhibitors (chemosensitizers) of the efflux pumps of fungal pathogens. Antifungal drug discovery is being advanced by combining the yeast-based screening capabilities of the Molecular Microbiology Laboratory with the combinatorial chemistry skills of MicroCombiChem. A research project seeking multifunctional azole drugs is currently supported by the Marsden Fund of New Zealand.
